Locations
NELA has not been overshot. We have a number of undiscovered locations from the natural and agricultural to universities and period architecture. And your script doesn't have to be set here to film here. Our locations can pass for just about anywhere across the country and even the world. In the natural sense, we have hard-bottom bayous, lakes and rivers. We have piney forests for greenery year-round and beautiful rolling hills. Our agricultural areas of NELA are filled with fields of corn, soybeans, cotton, and sweet potatoes. We also have several camps in the area that each have different feel and could serve as a summer camp for kids, an upscale lodge, or a more remote camp setting. We have 3 universities in NELA. Louisiana Tech University boasts a beautiful quad. Grambling State University is a historically African-American college with lots of period architecture. The University of Louisiana at Monroe is a mix of old and new. Both our universities and our high schools boast a wide range of athletic facilities from the 1920's to modern. From city to city in NELA, the architecture and feel is very different. In Monroe, you will find art deco, craftsman, pre and post WW. Out in the more rural areas, you will find small towns of every shape and size. Some with a courthouse surrounded by a town square and some with a one-lane main street.
Convenience
NELA also brings convenience to the table. Our airport is serviced by American Airlines, Continental, Northwest, and Delta with daily flights to Dallas, Houston, Memphis and Atlanta. We are also located on I-20, the major thoroughfare in the South, making the overnight transportation of equipment easy from Dallas, Shreveport and Atlanta. We have also identified buildings that can be easily converted into sound stages of all sizes.
Amenities
More than 2000 hotel rooms are located in Monroe-West Monroe and corporate housing is available. We have a number of catering services and major stores like Office Depot, Best Buy, Lowe's, Home Depot, and Target as well as local boutiques and antique stores for unique and period pieces.
